Dr Chathu’s clinical practice focuses on women's and reproductive health, adult and youth mental health, neurodiversity, disordered eating, chronic medical conditions, preventative medicine, and LGBTIQ+ health. Dr. Chathu's journey through esteemed institutions like Mercy Health, Mercy Mental Health, and Austin Health has shaped her into the versatile practitioner she is today. She obtained her primary degree from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. She has completed her GP training in Melbourne and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr. Chathu holds the Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, with additional training in youth mental health at Headspace. She has a unique blend of expertise and understanding.
Dr. Chathu’s comprehensive services encompass a range of women’s health services not limited to preconceptional and antenatal care, management of early pregnancy complications, menopause care, implanon insertion/removals, mirena removals, and primary care for fertility issues. Additionally, she provides gender-affirmative healthcare, reproductive health care, mental health care, weight management, prevention, and management of chronic diseases.
